Over the Edge Swing
A giant swing may look similar to an ordinary playground swing, but the experience changes completely when it is placed on top of a tower approximately 100 meters above the ground. Riders are secured into the seats before the swing moves backwards and forwards, carrying them beyond the edge of the rooftop. Over the Edge is the large swing on the roof of A’DAM LOOKOUT in Amsterdam Noord. The swing is positioned approximately 100 meters above the ground and carries riders forwards beyond the edge of the A’DAM Tower. From the seats, you look directly across the IJ towards Central Station and the historic city center.The swing itself only lasts a few minutes, but the admission ticket also gives you access to the A’DAM LOOKOUT observation deck.
The indoor observation floor has large windows overlooking Amsterdam in every direction. Interactive binoculars help visitors recognise landmarks, neighbourhoods, and important buildings around the city. The outdoor Sky Deck provides an open-air 360-degree view over Amsterdam and the IJ. On clear days, you can see far beyond the historic centre and across the surrounding Dutch landscape. The elevator travels to the observation level in approximately 20 seconds and uses lighting and visual effects to make the journey part of the experience.
Riders must be taller than 1.20 metres. The swing is outdoors, so weather conditions can affect the experience. It is also one of the most popular activities at A’DAM LOOKOUT, making advance booking particularly useful during weekends, holidays, and around sunset.
The Amsterdam VR Ride is a virtual rollercoaster located on the 20th floor of A’DAM LOOKOUT. Riders sit inside a specially designed moving cart and wear a virtual reality headset. Once the ride starts, you experience a fictional rollercoaster journey through Amsterdam. The moving seat follows the action shown inside the headset, creating the sensation that you are racing above, around, and through some of the city’s best-known landmarks.
It is a short attraction designed to be added to a visit to the observation deck. A separate add-on ticket is required. Just like the rooftop swing, the VR Ride is suitable for visitors taller than 1.20 metres.
The Amsterdam VR Ride is separate from the larger A’DAM VR Game & Race Park in the basement of the tower. The VR Game & Race Park offers a range of immersive games. Visitors can battle zombies, solve virtual escape rooms, experience 4D attractions, or compete in realistic racing simulators.
A regular adult entrance ticket for A’DAM LOOKOUT currently costs €16.50 online or €18.50 at the ticket counter. The Over the Edge swing is a separate add-on costing €7.50 online or €8.50 at the location. Separate tickets and reservations are required for the VR Game & Race Park. It is a good option if you want to turn a visit to the A’DAM Tower into a longer indoor activity rather than only visiting the viewpoint.
Bowling
Bowling is a classic group activity where players take turns rolling a ball down a lane to knock over ten pins at the end. Mini golf

The A’DAM VR Game & Race Park is located in the basement of the A’DAM Tower. It is separate from both the observation deck and the short Amsterdam VR Ride on the 20th floor.
The VR park offers a larger collection of virtual reality activities. Depending on the selected package, visitors can try free-roaming zombie games, virtual escape rooms, 4D simulations, racing simulators, and other multiplayer VR experiences.
In free-roaming games, players can move through a physical gaming area while seeing and interacting with a virtual environment through their headsets. The racing section uses simulator seats and controls to recreate the feeling of driving a racing car.
Separate tickets and reservations are required for the VR Game & Race Park. It is a good option if you want to turn a visit to the A’DAM Tower into a longer indoor activity rather than only visiting the viewpoint.
Laser Tag

Aloha, the arena is located inside the same building as the bowling lanes and glow minigolf. Aloha upgraded its laser tag arena in 2022 with new vests, extra obstacles, and improved lighting. The 400 m² arena can host up to 20 players per session, with games lasting about 15 minutes including a short explanation. The arena has an industrial bunker theme and is located underneath a bridge. Groups may be combined during sessions.

Blast Galaxy is one of the largest and most distinctive arcade halls in Amsterdam. The venue contains more than 120 arcade machines, combining well-known classics with fighting games, racing games, shooting games, Japanese rhythm games, pinball machines, and modern multiplayer games.
Instead of paying separately for every machine, you buy one entrance ticket and all the arcade games are set to free play. A regular day ticket costs €15, and there is no fixed playing time. This means you can move between the machines and stay for as long as you like during the opening hours.
Blast Galaxy is especially suitable if playing games is the main activity of your visit. It has the atmosphere of a traditional arcade rather than a prize-based family entertainment center. Food and drinks are available, and the venue also has console games, karaoke, board games, and occasional gaming events.
The arcade is located in an industrial area between Westerpark and Sloterdijk. It is easy to reach by bike from both areas, although checking the opening days before travelling is recommended because Blast Galaxy is not open to the general public every day.

Gamestate Amsterdam ArenA is a large modern game hall in Amsterdam Zuidoost. It is filled with colourful arcade machines, basketball games, racing simulators, dance games, air hockey tables, shooting games, and machines where players can collect tickets and exchange them for prizes.
Gamestate works with a rechargeable play card. You load credits onto the card and scan it at each game you want to play. Different machines require different numbers of credits. Play packages start at approximately €18, and most visitors spend between one and three hours inside.
This arcade has a brighter and more modern atmosphere than Blast Galaxy. It is particularly suitable for families, teenagers, groups of friends, and visitors who enjoy competitive games and collecting prize tickets.
The location is directly beside Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station and can easily be combined with a football match or stadium tour at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, a concert at the Ziggo Dome, or shopping at Amsterdamse Poort.
TonTon Club Westergas

TonTon Club Westergas combines an arcade with a restaurant and bar. It is located inside a historic industrial building on the Westergas terrain, next to Westerpark. The games include classic arcade cabinets, pinball machines, air hockey, multiplayer games, and unusual Japanese games.
Unlike Blast Galaxy, the games are not included in a single entrance price. You purchase tokens and use them on the individual machines you want to play. This makes TonTon Club a good choice when you want to combine a few games with food, cocktails, or drinks instead of spending an entire afternoon inside an arcade.
The atmosphere is aimed more at adults and groups of friends, particularly later in the evening. During the day it can also work for families, but opening hours and age restrictions can vary depending on the day and time.
Because it is located inside Westergas, you can easily combine the arcade with a cycle through Westerpark, a visit to Fabrique des Lumières, or food and drinks elsewhere on the Westergas site.

Book in advance: Weekends and evenings fill up quickly, especially for escape rooms and VR games and the Swing over the Edge.Weather-proof options: Most activities listed are indoors, which makes them suitable year-round. Only over the Edge is located outdoors, so the weather can affect the experience and the view from the tower.
Group size: Check the minimum and maximum participants before booking. Some activities require at least 2 or 4 players.
Combine by bike: Cycling between locations saves time and gives you flexibility. You avoid parking issues and fixed public transport schedules. And you can see the city while going to your destination.
